Home Improvement was one of my favorite shows to watch growing up!

As someone who has watched dozens of television series, the chemistry between Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson was complicated at best and uncomfortable to watch.
The way Tim and Patricia played their characters relationship wasn’t the most pleasant. You see, the script is one thing. But how the actors choose to play their characters is another thing. The director directs them but ultimately its up to the actors how they pull it off. But due to their complicated relationship behind-the-scenes, Tim and Patricia played Tim and Jill as an unhappy married couple who hated being married to each other. As an dedicated Home Improvement fan (I watched the show solely because of Tim Allen), i never once saw Tim and Patricia display any real affection or love between their characters. They acted their scenes as if they wanted to strangle each other. As a child, watching their scenes always made me feel uneasy.
As for Patricia’s demands for equal payment, Hollywood has been the same since the beginning. The actors always know what their payment is going to be when they take the acting job. If you accept the acting job fully well knowing you’ll get less pay than the other, why complain? Patricia always knew that she’ll never get the same pay as Tim because the show was always gonna be about him and his comedy. He was the main star of the show. She was a supporting actor. Home Improvement was never meant to become a "Tim and Jill" TV show. If Patricia always had a problem with getting less pay than Tim, why take the job in the first place? This is what makes you lose respect and value in the industry. Her acting career declined significantly after Home Improvement ended. So in my opinion, Patricia is what she portrayed on the show. A nag and a hypocrite.
Patricia single handedly forced the show to end by using the pay gap between her and Tim because she felt underpaid and her ego was wounded. Tim also complained to the show’s producers about Patricia’s pretentious attitude during the production of the final seasons. Ever since the show ended, Tim and Patricia’s relationship has been very contentious. Reportedly, their reunion in Last Man Standing was awkward.
Some people have a very screwed up notion about equality and feminism.
Recently, Patricia’s public verbal attacks against Tim have only caused more people and fans to look down on her for her self-righteous behavior. Whenever Patricia bad-mouths Tim, she seems very bitter and arrogant. Seems like she’s bitter that he’s at the top of his career while she’s been forgotten. This is what always happens in Hollywood if you become greedy. Patricia made her own bed.
Miss watching the show on Sunday afternoons. Miss show in general.

The only thing I did not like about this is that JTT was introduced as John Baker in season 2 of Last Man Standing (Kristen’s boss at the fancy restaurant). They want the viewers to believe that all the sudden John Baker never existed.

Im watching home improvement now lol grew up watching it with my parents and grandpa. Im 30 now with a wife. Tired of all the shows on tv now.
In that episode, doesn’t he have binford tools, and doesn’t she mention something about her ex-husband blowing himself up or something similar?
